President Widodo Releases Second Batch of Humanitarian Aid for Palestine

 

SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo launched the second batch of humanitarian aid for Palestine from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base to El-Arish airport in Egypt, Monday (11/20).

In addition to government funds, the second batch of aid also came from companies and the public. The 21 tons of humanitarian aid consist of food, medicine, and hospital supplies.

The release was attended by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and others.

In his speech, President Jokowi emphasized that, in addition to providing humanitarian assistance, Indonesia also provides political support to Palestine. Currently, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, along with several foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is visiting a number of countries to garner support to stop the atrocities in Gaza.
