SEAToday.com, Budapest - Good news from the rock climbing sport, Indonesia's representatives at the 2024 Paris Olympics increased to 4 people. Two rock climbing athletes, namely Veddriq Leonardo and Rajiah Salsabillah secured the 3rd place in the Speed number, in the qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics in Budapes, Hungary which was held on June 20-23, 2024.

Reporting from the International Rock Climbing Sports Federation (IFSC) page, Veddriq finished in third place in the small final against fellow Indonesian athlete Aspar.  Veddriq is entitled to the third podium after clocking 5.05 seconds, while Aspar clocked 5.61 seconds.

Meanwhile, Rajiah Salsabillah ranked third in the Women's Speed with a record time of 6.64 seconds.

With these results, the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation's target of qualifying four athletes for the 2024 Olympics has been achieved. In its Instagram account, the Indonesian Rock Climbing Federation (FTPI) stated, "Indonesia recorded a brilliant achievement at the second series of the Paris 2024 Olympic qualification event which took place in Budapes."

The two Indonesian rock climbing athletes who had previously qualified for the Olympics were Rahmad Adi Mulyono and Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi. The 2024 Paris Olympics will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024. Meanwhile, the rock climbing sport will be competed on August 5-10, 2024.
