Thailand to Host First ASEAN “Summer Sonic” Music Fest in August, “Tomorrowland” in 2026

Thailand to Host First ASEAN “Summer Sonic” Music Fest in August, “Tomorrowland” in 2026

SEAToday.com, Nonthaburi - Thailand will be the first country in Southeast Asia to host two major music festivals, "Summer Sonic" and "Tomorrowland". This announcement came from Thai government spokesman Chai Watcharong on Friday (3/22).

Watcharong explained that hosting these international festivals is part of a government strategy to boost the creative industry as an economic driver and establish Thailand as a global hub for festivals, attracting more tourists.

The "Summer Sonic Bangkok 2024" event will be a two-day affair, held on August 24 and 25 at Impact Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi. Unlike the outdoor format in Japan, the Bangkok edition will take place indoors due to the rainy season.

Looking ahead, the prestigious electronic dance music (EDM) festival, "Tomorrowland", is slated for Thailand in 2026. This event is expected to draw some of the world's biggest EDM house and techno artists. (DHITA/ DKD)
