SEAToday.com, Qatar - Indonesia U23 coach Shin Tae-yong confirmed that two players, Alfeandra Dewangga and Justin Hubner, will not be joining the squad for the upcoming AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 in Qatar.
Dewangga recently underwent minor surgery for a bump near his armpit, while Hubner was unable to secure release from his club, Cerezo Osaka.
"Right now, Elkan (Baggott), Dewangga, and Justin can't join the team," said Shin Tae-yong. "We're facing some difficulties (in calling up players), but preparations have to continue regardless."
In the absence of these two players, Shin Tae-yong has called up Persib defender Kakang Rudianto. Kakang's presence is expected to bolster the defensive options alongside Rizky Ridho, Muhammad Ferarri, and Komang Teguh.
