SEAToday.com, Jakarta - During Ramadan, public transportation users sometimes have to break their fast (Iftar) while still on the move.
For MRT and TransJakarta passengers, these two modes of transportation share some rules for Iftar on transportation.
Iftar Rules at MRT
- Allowed to Iftar with mineral water or drink in a tumbler and eat dates.
- Eating rice and dishes, snacks, instant meals, and drinking anything other than mineral water is prohibited on the train.
- Only allowed at the time of Iftar, with a maximum of 10 minutes from the call to Maghrib.
- Keep the station and train area clean.
- Keep garbage and do not throw it away until find the nearest garbage.
Iftar Rules at TransJakarta
- Allowed to eat and drink on the bus when Iftar, with a maximum time of 10 minutes from Maghrib Adhan.
- Rice and side dishes, smelly food, and ready-to-eat food are not allowed on the bus.
- Keeping the bus clean and orderly.
- Iftar with water, dates, or snacks.
- Passengers can go to the retail/commercial area located at the TransJakarta bus stops to buy food for Iftar.
