SEAToday.com, France - The French government will create a law that will ban smoking on beaches, public parks, forests, and near schools, as Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron promises to create “the first tobacco-free generation” by 2032.
Along with banning smoking in some areas, taxes on cigarettes will also be increased. The government also plans to ban “puffs”, single-use disposable e-cigarettes that are said to be popular among young people but have a heavy impact on health and the environment.
French Health Minister Aurélien Rousseau emphasizes that moving forward, no-smoking areas would be the norm, saying that it could help avoid 75,000 deaths per year.
