SEAToday.com, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Supervisory Board has found the inactive KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri guilty of violating the code of ethics and imposed severe sanctions on him. This decision was announced during the ethics verdict hearing on Wednesday (12/27) at the KPK office in Jakarta.

"Stating that the examined Firli Bahuri has been proven legally and convincingly to have violated the code of ethics, namely having a direct or indirect contact with Syahrul Yasin Limpo, whose case is being handled by the KPK," said Ethics Panel Chairman Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean in his verdict.

For this violation, Firli was given severe ethical sanctions and asked to resign from his position of KPK Chairman.

Firli himself was not present at the reading of the verdict, but the KPK Supervisory Board stated that the verdict was still valid despite his absence.
