SEAToday.com, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated the operations of Siboru Airport in Fakfak, West Papua, and Douw Aturure Airport in Nabire, Central Papua, on Thursday (11/23).
President Jokowi mentioned that these two airports can improve mobility and connectivity in Papua and open opportunities to trigger economic growth. He added that these two airports will become air bridges, connecting Fakfak and Nabire to various other cities in Papua.
President Jokowi also asked the community and local government to utilize this airport as a medium to introduce the potential of Papua and increase tourist visits to Papua.
