SEAToday.com, Kerman - Twin explosions occurred during a memorial ceremony of the slain Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Kerman, Iran killing almost 100 people, Wednesday (1/3).
Iranian officials reported that a pair of bombs had been placed along the road toward the cemetery. The bombs exploded when the procession of people made their way there for the ceremony. The event commemorates the fourth anniversary of General Soleimani’s death in the 2020 US drone strike.
This attack resulted in at least 95 people killed and more than 200 wounded. The number could rise, said the health authorities.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei called the blasts “terrorist attack” and vowed to give harsh response to the perpetrator.
